Home Inspector Pro figures are from their published pricing page as of October 2026 and may have changed - check homeinspectorpro.com for current numbers. Their page shows a plain "$" without naming a currency; for a US inspector it is presumably US dollars, but confirm with them. They also mention annual discounts that we have not included here.

Where AfterInspect is genuinely different

• Billed in US dollars, and says so. $49/month, with the currency named on every price.
• Offline-first, not offline-tolerant. Captures are written to your device before anything is sent anywhere, so no signal means no difference. Their pricing page does not mention offline use, so if you work in basements and rural areas, ask them how it behaves with no signal. How ours works.
• Nothing to install on a laptop. AfterInspect runs in the browser and installs to your phone or tablet home screen, so there is no desktop software to set up or keep updated.
• Dictation with the raw transcript kept. An AI-structured draft is offered, but the original transcript is always there and nothing lands in your report without you reviewing it.
• A prewritten comment library - hundreds of findings with the narrative, recommendation and severity already filled in, which you can edit, favorite or replace. It started with Canadian homes and now includes US additions, so review entries against how homes are built in your area.

Where Home Inspector Pro is the better choice

If any of these matter to you, take them seriously - we would rather you pick the right tool than churn in two months.

• You want credit card processing in the same tool. Their plan lists it alongside digital contracts and scheduling. AfterInspect does not take payments.
• You want a native desktop app. They list Windows and Mac desktop software alongside iOS and Android apps. Ours is a web app that installs to your device.
• You are switching from another report writer. They advertise free conversion from other report writers, and AI-powered report translation. We cannot import your old reports.
• You want a long-established vendor. We are new and much smaller.

The honest summary

If you mainly need to walk a property, capture findings reliably without signal, and send a good-looking report, AfterInspect is a close fit. If you want payments and a desktop app in the same package, Home Inspector Pro is built for that, and it is a perfectly reasonable decision.
