Looking for a Spectora alternative?
Spectora is a good product and the biggest name in the category. It is also priced in US dollars and built around a full back office you may not need. Here is an honest comparison, including the parts where it wins.
Price, side by side
| AfterInspect | Spectora | |
|---|---|---|
| One inspector | $49/month | US$109/month |
| Each additional inspector | $39/month | US$99/month |
| Billing currency | US dollars | US dollars |
| Free trial | 14 days, no card | Offered - see their site for current terms |

Where AfterInspect is genuinely different
- A lower list price, billed in US dollars. One inspector costs less per month than on Spectora, and each additional inspector costs less than their additional-inspector price.
- Offline-first, not offline-tolerant. Captures are written to your device before anything is sent anywhere, so no signal means no difference. How that works.
- Dictation with the raw transcript kept. An AI-structured draft is offered, but the original transcript is always there and nothing lands in your report without you reviewing it.
- The work after the report, built in. Clients sign your agreement from a link, follow-ups go out in your name if you switch them on, buyers can send a repair request to their agent from the shared report, and a Zapier or Make webhook tells your other tools when it happens.
- A prewritten comment library - hundreds of findings with the narrative, recommendation and severity already filled in, which you can edit, favorite or replace. It started with Canadian homes and now includes US additions, so review entries against how homes are built in your area.
Where Spectora is the better choice
If any of these matter to you, take them seriously - we would rather you pick the right tool than churn in two months.
- You want one tool for the whole business. Spectora covers scheduling, agreements, payments and client communication. AfterInspect covers inspection capture, reporting, e-signed agreements, client follow-ups and an online booking page, but it does not take payments and does not bundle a website.
- You want a company website bundled in. They sell that; we don't.
- You want a large ecosystem. Twelve thousand-plus inspectors means templates, integrations, agent familiarity with their report format, and a lot of people to ask when you're stuck. We are new and much smaller.
- You want a vendor with years of US experience. AfterInspect is new to the US market, so there are fewer US-specific templates, integrations and local references than Spectora has built up.
The honest summary
If you mainly need to walk a property, capture findings reliably without signal, and send a good-looking report, AfterInspect is likely cheaper on list price and a close fit. If you need an all-in-one back office with a mature ecosystem behind it, Spectora is the safer pick, and that is a perfectly reasonable decision.
